Each year Tom hosts a filed trip for the "Odyssey Girls" from Cripple Creek-Victor High School so that they can meet a State Senator "up-close and personal." They are given a tour of the Wiens Ranch and introduced to his horse trainer for a brief but exciting introduction to the world of champion Cutting horses and life on a ranch. They visit his office and get a glance at what it's like to be a "citizen legislator." Part of the experience is to inspire the girls to set high goals and reach for their dreams. The feed-back from the students and teachers has been extremely positive.
Tom has a long-running history of commitment, leadership and action in our communities. He is bringing that dedication and experience to the Colorado Senate so he is better able to help our communities from the state level.
Tom and Diana host the Huskie Hoedown for DCHS Quarterback Club.
The Huskie Hoedown is Quarterback Club’s largest annual fundraising event and many folks would agree it is the most fun! It is a western-style live auction, silent auction, dinner and barn dance held each year in late May or early June at the beautiful Wiens Ranch just southwest of Castle Rock. Many terrific items are donated to the Club to be auctioned and there is excellent food, live entertainment and an open bar. This event is the perfect opportunity for a parents-only night out.

Tom and Diana host Buckaroo Ball Colorado
Buckaroo Ball Colorado
Early in 2001 Tom and Diana Wiens built an indoor arena primarily used for training their cutting horses. Their philanthropic hearts lead them to use the venue for much more. Together with their good friend and neighbors Mike and Pati Palumbo, Tom and Diana had the idea to utilize the arena as a center to host a major fundraising event benefiting the Children's Hospital Research Institute. Already involved with the Children's Hospital Research Institute, The Wiens Family offered a one of kind ranch experience. The Buckaroo Ball was born!
